A Course in Miracles: America the Unimpressive?

Once upon a time there was a country known as "America the great." But socialism transformed this country into America the unimpressive, the insignificant, even the "hateful Satan." Can America be returned to grandeur? Is Sarah Palin the one who will return America to glory? Strangely, in ancient the ancient Greek language "palin" (πάλιν) means "back again once more." Wouldn't it be something if Americans said, "Wait a minute! This country was given birth and made great by men and women who were guided by the spirit within them, not by intellectual theories about redistributing material prosperity. "

Wouldn't it be something if Americans said, "We are not a materialistic socialist people! We are a spiritual people!"

Wouldn't it be something if Americans said, "Providing socialistic health care to my body means nothing! Leaving me free to make my own decisions following my spirit means everything!

Wouldn't it be something if Americans said, "The seeming material well-being promised by so-called "liberals" and so-called "progressives" is neither liberal or progressive. My spirit is free and must remain free."

Religionists call their spirit "God." Ayn Rand atheists refuse to call it "God," but rejoice in celebrating "the spirit of man." Whatever. Neither religionists nor Ayn Rand atheists are materialists like the arrogant out-of-touch with reality "liberals" and "progressives" who want to herd all these bodies into so-called "benevolent" slavery.

Wouldn't it be something if Americans said to themselves, "Who among all these politicians is really in touch with his or her spirit and not just pretending to be spiritual?"

Wouldn't it be something if Americans said, "My spirit is guiding me to support Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney!"
