Political "spin" is when you attempt to turn a truth 180 degrees to help your own agenda. The truth stated by Clinton is that the original Boston Tea Party was indeed an act of rebellion against government abuse of power. The spin is Clinton's attempt to pretend the modern tea party movement is not about exactly the same thing.

Citizens of Massachusetts are proud of the Boston Tea Party heritage. They understand it was about government abuse of power and they feel a certain camaraderie with their historical brothers. "You guys back then weren't afraid to rebel against a government out of touch with reality ... neither are we!"

That is precisely why Massachusetts voters are sending Washington a message: "You tyrants in Washington are acting exactly the same way King George's cronies acted in England in 1776.
