A Course in Miracles: A Truthful Robin Hood Movie

The latest Robin Hood movie no longer perpetuates the myth that Robin Hood robbed from the rich to give to the poor. Liberals and progressives are unhappy with the movie.

Actually misnamed "liberals" and "progressives" when viewed with spiritual eyes are seen to be neither liberal nor progressive.

They will swear to the high heavens that they would never go from door to door, pointing a gun at your head and your next door neighbor's head, demanding money to pay for their beloved "do-gooder" programs. But they have no problem letting their favorite politicians do their dirty work for them. They enjoy pretending innocence.

Liberal progressives would at least be a little honest and up front if they did go door to door in person, threatening their neighbor's lives and mouthing their demands in person. But to hide behind their politicians and have their politicians use government taxation and inflation to extort money for their programs ... such cowardice makes them in spiritual language obvious thieves and robbers.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. (John 10:1)

Of course they will try to divert attention from their mugging mentality by claiming that you too have a responsibility for taxation. "Get real," they will argue. "Don't you use roads and other public services?"

It does no good to answer that you are freely willing to pay voluntarily for services you use and benefit from, preferably from a free market but within reason from a government agency if that's where a monopoly lies. They don't want to hear that living by your free will and not being forced is the natural and spiritual way.

The world, in its original connotation, included both the proper creation of man by God, and the proper creation by man in his Right Mind. The latter required the endowment of man by God with free will, because all loving creation is freely given. -Jesus Christ in A Course in Miracles

The liberal progressive answer to free will is pretended shock. "Voluntary payment for public services! It would never work." End of thought process ... no thought dared given to possibilities that do not involve robbery, not because it couldn't be made to work, but because politically mugging people is easier and more suits their temperament.

But then if pressed they will fall back on the illusory smugness of feigned moralism. "Robin Hood robbed from the rich and gave to the poor ... which is only fair, as the rich shouldn't have everything and the poor nothing."

Of course progressive liberals are not interested in the truth of the Robin Hood story. In Robin Hood's day the rich were those in political control who became rich by taxing into poverty those who had no political connections. Robin Hood heroically robbed from the taxers and gave back to the taxed ... a supremely moral activity since he was only reclaiming from the taxers a bit of that which was robbed from the people in the first place.

Liberal progressives are the malicious Prince Johns of our day. But they try to hide their evil by proclaiming they are "helping the poor." Never mind that the poor wouldn't be poor if liberal progressives would get out of the way and quit hampering those who create opportunities and prosperity, and quit enabling those who make self-sabotaging decisions in their lives.

So-called "progressive" government entitlement programs offer no spiritual value for anyone, not for the robbers, not for the robbed, and not for those who share in some of the unearned loot.

Jesus Christ teaches personal responsibility, voluntary charity which has spiritual value for giver and receiver both ... the giver because he is freely sharing what he has rightfully earned, and the receiver because he knows he has been blessed by spiritual impulse, not government force. Freely ye have received, freely give. (Matt. 10-8)

Jesus does not teach as do modern Democrats, "Rob from those who have and give to those who have not." The Christ sees liberal progressives as the muggers they are, and condones them not.
