Mitt Romney is extremely intelligent and surrounds himself with highly intelligent advisers who offer a wide variety of expertise and advice. So Republicans can trust he will pick a Vice Presidential running mate who will attract voters and help Republicans roll back the "leftist transformation of America" instituted by Barack Obama.

Since one of Obama's favorite propaganda misrepresentations is that Republicans have declared war on women, there will be very serious consideration to putting a woman on the Republican ticket. For example, Nicky Haley, Governor of South Carolina, has been prominently mentioned as a Vice Presidential possibility by pundits.

On the other hand, since Romney's strong stand championing legal immigration has been turned against him by Democratic activists in Latino communities, there will be equally strong advice to put a Latino on the GOP ticket. Usually Florida Senator Marco Rubio tops the list in this regard.

Finally, since Romney has been unfairly painted in libertarian and conservative circles as a moderate, he will receive plenty of advice to include someone on his ticket who might help attract libertarians and evangelical conservatives who might otherwise in the name of "purity" help sabotage the GOP's chances of saving America from Obama. Speculation has ranged from Alan West to Ron Paul to everyone in between.

There is one possible VP candidate who could go a long way toward helping the GOP ticket in all three of these areas: Susana Martinez, Governor of New Mexico, who grew up in El Paso, Texas, granddaughter of Mexican immigrants.

"According to an April 3 poll by Rasmussen Reports, 60 percent of New Mexicans approve of her performance, up 7 points from the 53 percent of the vote she won in 2010. And in New Mexico, nearly half of registered voters are Democrats and only 30 percent are Republicans. According to her campaign’s internal numbers, Martinez won nearly a quarter of Democrats and over 40 percent of Hispanic voters. At a time when the GOP is accused of being anti-woman and anti-Hispanic, the conservative Martinez stands out as a living, breathing counterexample." -- The Weekly Standard

Seems like such a perfect fit!  Yet Susana doesn't want to be the VP candidate.

Martinez has a simple, one-word answer when I ask if she would consider accepting the vice presidential nomination: “No.” Emphatically no? “Emphatically,” she says. What will she say if Romney calls her in late July to ask her the same question? “I am going to say that I am very honored and very humbled but I must decline,” she says. -- The Weekly Standard

Yes, according to the Weekly Standard article Susana has very important personal reasons for not wanting to be the VP candidate.  But the issue here is saving America from leftist dictatorship.  Maybe all patriots should be praying hard that if Mitt sees her as right for the job he will be persuasive and she will find ways to handle the considerations which would otherwise hold her back.

Then when patriots are not praying, they can be singing a recruiting song:

"Oh, Susana! Won't you run with Mitt,
A conserva-Latin lass, Oh
gal, we're sure you'd be a hit!
Oh, Susana! Won't you run with Mitt,
And you rose from old El Paso,
So we know you've got the grit!"

"God's laws will keep your minds at peace, because peace IS His Will, and His laws are established to uphold it. His are the laws of freedom, but yours are the laws of bondage. Since freedom and bondage are irreconcilable, their laws CANNOT BE UNDERSTOOD TOGETHER. The laws of God work only for your good, and there ARE no other laws beside His. Everything else is merely lawLESS, and therefore chaotic." -Jesus Christ in A Course in Miracles
