“What is good for General Motors is good for America” - Charlie Wilson, Chairman General Motors Corporation (1955)

In 1955, General Motors topped the Fortune 500 list as the largest corporation in the world, almost twice the size of Exxon Mobile. America was a land of unprecedented prosperity brought about by a relatively free market with government taking a relatively "hands off" stance regarding the booming American economy.

But in 1955 Ayn Rand already knew what the future had in store. She had grown up in a socialist country, and could see what was coming. In 1957, she published Atlas Shrugged, a fictional presentation of America falling apart both morally and economically. More importantly, her novel outlined crystal clearly the reasons for the culture-wide bankruptcy and what kind of thinking would be needed to turn things around.

Now it's 2009 and General Motors is unable to meet its financial obligations, causing the once great corporation to file for bankruptcy. Meanwhile, the once great United States government is not far behind in financial unsoundness and future historians will have no choice but to write: "What was bad for General Motors was bad for America."

Atlas Shrugged is one of the world's greatest novels, well worth reading in it's entirety. But especially read the portion of the novel that describes what happened to the Twentieth Century Motor Company. Then you'll understand what is happening in America today.

"God's laws will keep your minds at peace, because peace IS His Will, and His laws are established to uphold it. His are the laws of freedom, but yours are the laws of bondage. Since freedom and bondage are irreconcilable, their laws CANNOT BE UNDERSTOOD TOGETHER. The laws of God work only for your good, and there ARE no other laws beside His. Everything else is merely lawLESS, and therefore chaotic." -Jesus Christ in A Course in Miracles

"The Paid Vacation Act, forces every private business in America with more than 100 employees to give everyone a free week of paid vacation. That government mandate increases to two weeks in subsequent years.

"You don’t need to conduct a study to see what havoc such laws wreak on the economy because they are already in force countries like France, where then-ruling Socialist Party lawmakers long ago instituted 'free vacation' proposals."
Alan Grayson's latest "Mickey Mouse" idea

The Libertarian Party's Communications Director, Donny Ferguson, writer of the above article, argues persuasively that socialist legislation like Grayson's Paid Vacation Act is hopelessly short-sighted and insane economics.

But liberals don't care whether the economics of their proposals are insane. They sell their Utopian ideas as "nice for everyone to have" ... to hell with the economics. Which is of course where their socialist programs lead the entire country ... into hell. Yes, the program is economic insanity, but Ferguson is foolish fighting it on economic grounds. Voters admit they don't know anything about economics.

The argument that should be put forward is the immorality of such programs. By what right do liberals believe it's okay to force you to take a vacation? Or force me to take a vacation? Or force anyone to take a vacation? Or force business operators to offer vacations?

The "right" liberals claim is: "We have studies that show what is healthy for people."

Does this mean they can force you to brush your teeth because studies show that brushing your teeth is good for you? Does it mean they can force you to eat a vegan diet because it can be shown that a vegan diet is healthier than a diet containing meat and dairy products? Does this mean they can force you to be sexually active because some studies show that sexually active adults are more "well-adjusted;" or force you to refrain from sexual activity because other studies show great benefits from celibacy?

Where do liberals get the belief that, like gods, they need to tell others how they "have to" live their lives ... and use government force to back up their commandments?

To be sure, Grayson's "commandment from above" is economic insanity. But the real issue is Grayson's eagerness to be a slave master. Modern "liberalism" is actually a system of institutionalized slavery in which "liberals" are the masters while you and I are the slaves.

No Ferguson, it's not a "Mickey Mouse" proposal. Mickey Mouse never sought to enslave anyone. It's another brutal proposal seeking to extend slavery.

"But that's not all. Not only does cap-and-trade yield no net gain to the economy, but when you factor in efficiency losses due to higher energy costs, job losses almost certainly exceed job gains." - Energy Policy Analyst William Yeatman in Green jobs: All Pain for No Gain

Worldwide Truth: To the degree government has its fingers in a country's economy, that country's economy is chaos.

Haven't we seen enough government economic manipulation in the last couple hundred years? Does anyone really believe lawyers and politicians using the force of law can better produce and distribute what people want than voluntary transactions in the free market?

Oh, that's right! Lawyers and politicians are of the opinion that people don't know what they really want, and left to their own devices without being forced will choose what is not good for them.

The voluntary free market is not producing a green world fast enough, so government has to force green on us. This cannot fail be very painful because government force used in this way is insane and immoral.

Insanity and immorality are always very painful, wouldn't you say?

"Voters approved just one of the six propositions, a measure prohibiting pay raises for lawmakers and other state elected officials during deficit years." - Ballot Defeat Leaves Calif. In Deeper Budget Hole

It happens rarely. But once in a near comet's pass an election is carried by voters who are smarter than "liberal" Democrats and their news media allies.

Of course CBS slanted the above story to avoid mentioning the culpability of news media "liberals" and Democratic legislators. The media wants it to look like it's the fault of California voters, not greedy Democrats and power-mad teachers' unions, that poor little children's education (read: leftist indoctrination) could feel the pain of budget cuts.

(There was a day when Americans didn't have public education and everybody did fine.)

And of course approved CBS policy blames Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger because he still clothes himself as a "Republican" despite acting like a Democrat in sabotaging republican principles in every way. Republicans are always the scapegoat, right? When the shit hits the fan because of the country-bankrupting spending spree of Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid CBS will find a way to blame Mitt Romney, don't you think?

The once "Golden State" has become hell. As California goes, so goes all the United States. The question is: have the voters of California signaled a change in the direction of freeing California from insanity?

Quoted from a true story:

"In 1910 those men sat around that table for a week [in a secret meeting on Jekyll Island, Georgia] and then, when they were done, they got back on the train, back in that private railroad car, and I'm sure they were still discussing it on the way back, and they disappeared into the environs of Wall Street and New York.

"For many years after that, these seven men denied -- vehemently denied -- that they attended such a meeting. Never happened, they said. Gradually, as the word got out and more people began to discuss it, they said, "Well yes, we went, but we just went to play some poker and smoke some good cigars, a gentleman's meeting, you know, and do some duck hunting.

"Finally, after the Federal Reserve Act was passed into law three years later in 1913 during Woodrow Wilson's administration, and even after that, when people in America began to accept the existence of the Federal Reserve System, then and only then did these seven men begin to talk openly about their role and what they did there, what they discussed, and what decisions they made.

"Let's take a look at how well the Federal Reserve has done its mission. Let's give it a report card. Just how well has it done over the past 96+ years?

"Since 1913, when it was enacted in law by Congress, the Federal Reserve has presided over the crashes of 1921 and 1929, The Great Depression of 1929-1939, recessions in the years 1953, 1957, 1969, 1975, 1981, a stock market Black Monday in 1987, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride in the stock market since the fall of 1998, and now a complete meltdown of the dollar, soaring corporate debt, soaring personal debt greater than ever, business and personal bankruptcies are at an all-time high, banks and savings and loans have failed in larger numbers than ever before, interest on the national debt is consuming half of our tax dollars, interest on consumer debt has driven the average personal savings rate into a negative range, unemployment is increasing, and --- although income has risen each year in terms of paper dollars --- the real purchasing power of such paper dollars for the middle class has been dropping steadily for over 35 years.

"F minus."

But that's just scratching the surface. You do yourself a disservice if you don't read the entire story of: The Creature from Jekyll Island

"How could the Constitution have failed us? The Bill of Rights lies in shreds. What has happened to the American spirit of rugged individualism? Can we rekindle that spirit so that freedom blazes like a beacon of hope again?" - www.anarchy.tv

Polls show up to 80% of Americans believe America is headed in the wrong direction. The only "change" Barack Obama's administration is bringing is acceleration of the insanity we see everywhere we look.

Sky Conway of Renegade Studios, producer of Star Trek: Of Gods and Men, has decided to actually deliver what Obama cluelessly and falsely promised: true change in the direction of America. Conway's new movie and TV series, Anarchy in America, promises to move 10s of millions of Americans to action with the same passion that Atlas Shrugged inspired in maybe a million - action to create a voluntary society free of government tyranny.

Beneath the surface of a dramatic and exciting story, the movie's characters build a new societal infrastructure based on solid academic ideas such as The Structure of Liberty: Justice and the Rule of Law, by Constitutional Law Professor Randy Barnett.

The Obama administration's fascism was probably not a factor influencing Sky Conway to "give his all" for liberty, but the Administration's ever more obvious frantic mismanagement and heavy-handedness will certainly encourage many to watch and advertise Sky's movie. So in the same way that a hundred times more horseshit in the street can be thought to be responsible for a cleanup effort, maybe Barack Obama will after all end up being responsible for real change in America.

You'll definitely want to see Anarchy in America, and if you really value liberty you might even want to contribute to it's production and distribution. Check it out: www.anarchy.tv

Finally, as always, if you want to investigate deeper than ever the underlying nonsense of Obama's religion of government worship give yourself the pleasure of reading Ayn Rand's epic and masterful novel, Atlas Shrugged

"OUR religion of government worship is the opiate of the masses." - Karl Marx (whispered with a smirk)

Because the god of socialists is government and their religious practice is using government to force their agenda on others, conservative response to socialism is often interpreted to mean conservatives dislike government. In his book "Liberty and Tyranny," Mark R. Levin clarifies the conservative feeling:

"The Conservative does not despise government. He despises tyranny. This is precisely why the Conservative reveres the Constitution and insists on adherence to it. An 'effective' government that operates outside its constitutional limitations is a dangerous government."

The U.S. government has instituted most of the tyrannical agenda of Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto, and no one in their right mind would any longer call America a free country. Mark Levin's Conservative Manifesto would correct the course of the United States government, steering America back toward freedom long ago enjoyed.

Do not let Obama get away with his accelerated fascism. Become a freedom fighter. Start by reading this book:

"God's laws will keep your minds at peace, because peace IS His Will, and His laws are established to uphold it. His are the laws of freedom, but yours are the laws of bondage.
